There’s something special about being nurtured to go out and conquer the world. There’s a sense of mission. My professors were invested in my success. It wasn’t just a job to them. A lot of times at HBCUs, they may not get paid as much as they get paid at other universities. The facilities might not be what they are at other places. But, the nuturing and the caring and the investment in your success is always going to be there. And that was more important to me than anything else.
