Donal Ware’s passion for sports is undeniable. He also has a passion for pop culture and issues of the day. But it’s not just a passion for sports, pop culture, and issues of the day. He also a passion for people and talking with them. This is how Radio BOSS was born.

A broadcast industry veteran who founded and hosts the nationally syndicated radio program FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW – BOXTOROW as it is known – Ware grew up in the Washington, DC area and calls Silver Spring, Md. home, by way of Hyattsville, Md. (Lewisdale). He listened to Ken Beatrice on the show Sports Call on WMAL and listened to Redskins, Bullets (now Wizards), Capitals, and Baltimore Orioles games on the radio. He also listened to Larry King on the radio, wanting to be on the radio one day.

He read Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilbon in The Washington Post, wanting also to be a writer one day. He grew up watching James Brown, George Michael, and Glen Brenner on television and hoped to be on TV as well.

His skill set has afforded him the opportunity to be on all three mediums.

A graduate of Morgan State University, learning from Bears play-by-play man Lamont Germany, Ware has interviewed the likes of Kevin Durant, Serena Williams, Michael Vick, Stephen Curry, Jim Brown, Tony Dungy, Mike Tyson, Chris Paul, Jerry Rice, Simone Biles, just to name a very few. His love of pop culture, which he has incorporated into the program, has led to interviews with A-listers such as Ludacris, Kevin Hart, Snoop Dogg, Joss Stone, T.I., the late Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, the late Chuck Brown, Taraji P. Henson, Common, and Ice Cube, again, just to name a few.

He aims to bring you more than just sports and entertainment talk, but more of an experience as he takes you on a journey through the world of sports and conversations with top sports and entertainment figures.

Ware started his career in athletics media relations as sports information director at North Carolina A&T, where he worked with coaches and student-athletes, including Maurice Hicks, who went on to play in the National Football League. After two years at A&T, North Carolina State University reached out and offered Ware the position of assistant media relations director, becoming one of if not the first Black media relations assistant director at an ACC school. There, he worked closely with future NFL star quarterback Philip Rivers. After three more years in athletic media relations, it was time to move into broadcasting.

He has made appearances on various television programs including ESPN’s Outside The Lines.
