Radio BOSS Conversations: Terri J. Vaughn… Donal Ware
…All of us are not one way. Some of us are ghetto. Some of us stuck up. some of us are very educated… you know it’s just levels. And I’m like we’re artists. We gotta tell stories of life. Can’t just tell the shining, perfect people because we’re not like that. We’re layered and we’re flawed… so that’s the beauty of doing what I get to do is, I get to bring these characters to life.
Actress/Producer and just all around great person Terri J. Vaughn has been acting for over 30 years. She came up with the concept for her new project She The People and worked with writer Niya Palmer and Tyler Perry to bring the concept to reality. The first half of the season is available on Netflix now and the second half of the season is slated to begin airing in August. She shot a proof of concept for the series and also enlisted former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms as an executive producer. Terri talks with the Radio BOSS more about She The People, talks about her career including her role as Lovita on The Steve Harvey Show, the initial push back she received about the role, and how she was able to parlay that role into three NAACP Image Awards. She also talks about growing up in San Francisco. Download or listen.
