That was an amazing experience. It taught me a lot of discipline and it taught me brotherhood as well. That whole process… it taught me how to struggle. It taught me how to get over the struggle. And the rest has been history.

Woody McClain on his time at Florida A&M University and being a member of The Marching 100

Actor Woody McClain plays the role of Lorenzo “Cane” Tejada, Jr. in Power Book II: Ghost. His character continues to grow in popularity amongst Power fans. McClain actually started out as a dancer before becoming an actor and caught a break when he auditioned for the role of Bobby Brown in the New Edition Story. Before that, he signed with Kevin Hart’s production company, ‘HartBeat Digital’, in December 2015 to produce content after his version of Hart’s “Permission to Cuss” skit went viral and caught Hart’s attention.

Even before his acting career took off, McClain began as a student at Florida A&M University. He joined the famed Marching 100 as well as a dance troupe called the FAMU Strikers. McClain sits down with the Radio BOSS to talk about why he attended Florida A&M and what his time was like there, his role as Cane in Power Book II: Ghost, about how he was able to secure the Bobby Brown role, reprising the role in the Bobby Brown Story, and about whether or not he will be in season four of Power Book II.
